Morrison Travel Club

We are working on plans for a different trip for Fall 2021!

We are delighted to announce the
2020 Morrison Travel Club trip

Italy: Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast and Rome,
September 21 – 30, 2020

with an optional extension to
Florence: Cradle of the Renaissance,
September 30 - October 5, 2020

We look forward to having you join us as we explore the wonders of Italy through art, architecture, culture, food and history; while we discover Pompeii, enjoy a cooking class under the watchful eye of Vesuvius, visit a lemon orchard and limoncello liqueur factory, travel the Amalfi Coasti, and take a day trip to the island of Capri.

We will spend several days exploring the Eternal city of Rome, including the an early morning visit to Sistine Chapel, an evening tour of the Colosseum, along with museums, Vatican City, beautiful gardens, all while enjoying the companionship of old friends and new.

We will be travelling with WorldStrides Tour Company again. The main trip is $4549 - $4895 (depending on enrollment and early discount), and the optional extension is $1995. Initial deposit of $300 is due by January 15, 2020.

All costs are included except for transportation to and from O’Hare airport, lunches, a few dinners, personal beverages with meals, tips and gratuities (for the Tour Director, tour guides, and bus drivers), any fees that might be imposed by the airlines at the airport for checked baggage, and travel insurance.

Accessibility

Please take into consideration your health and physical capabilities. You should be able to walk an average of 6 miles per day at a moderate pace, possibly over uneven cobblestones or somewhat hilly terrain in all kinds of weather. You need to be able to stand for a reasonable length of time in galleries and museums, negotiate stairs and escalators, manage your own luggage and get on and off a coach bus unassisted.

Occasionally the coach bus may not be able to stop in front of the hotel. If this is the case you will need to be able to transport your luggage a short distance to the hotel.  Your luggage should not be so big or heavy that you cannot carry it up stairs, if needed, as not all hotels have elevators.

WorldStrides recommends "that group members restrict themselves to one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person. Each participant is responsible for their own baggage. Airline baggage size, weight and overall rules must be followed otherwise there may be a cost associated by the airline."

If you are unable to keep up with the group, you may need to wait for the group as they tour a site, or you may have to take public transportation or a taxi at your own expense to meet the group at a walking destination.

If you require any type of assistance, you must bring a capable travel companion who can help you get on and off the motor coach, in and out of hotels, and keep up with the pace of the tour.

Some Travel Club members will choose not to participate in all scheduled events. Taking a day off to explore on your own, or to rest and recuperate is ok, too!

"Why do you go away?
So that you can come back.
So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors.
And the people there see you differently, too.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
